Amy & Jack's engagement session

One of my favorite beaches to shoot is located at Moss Beach just below the Moss Beach Distillery, a famous and haunted restaurant. This reastaurant is a favorite of Jack and Amy so it was apropriate to do their engagement session there. Although it was a misty day we had a great time.

Equipment

One of the questions that I do not hear from my clients when they are interviewing me is about equipment. I would say that roughly 95% of my perspective client never ask about equipment, type or quantity that is brought to the wedding, I always bring up that question and try to educate them to ask other photographers in their interviews.Brand of equipment is not what they should ask but quantity - how many bodies and other equipment will be at the wedding. In college a photography teacher of mine would say “ It’s not the camera but the eye behind the camera” this will always be a true statement, equipment is tool for the photographer and a personal brand prefrence, learning to use the perticular camera well, a photographer uses the camera as an extension of his eye to capture images that others do not see – this is the difference between a hobbist and a professional. Below is a list of my equipment bag that I bring to all my weddings.

(15mm - Fish Eye) (50mm - Macro) (80mm – 1.2) (17-35mm – 2.8) (28-70mm – 2.8) (70-200mm – 2.8) (200mm – 1.8) (300mm – 2.8) (3 – Canon MKII bodies) (1 – Canon 30D (Backup)) (3 – 580 flash units + battery packs)

Wente Vineyards 06 Concert series

One of my favorite shoots is the Wente Concert series, I have been shooting this for the last 5 years. It is a great experience to be able to photograph musical celebreties and to be able to mingle with them back stage. Some of my favorites are Ringo Star, The doobie Bros, Chris Isach and Sarah Evans among others.
